In honor of Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month, we want to spotlight the empowering film Out of My Mind. Based on Sharon M. Draper’s 2010 novel, it tells the inspiring story of a young girl with cerebral palsy who learns to communicate using a speech-generating device. Sharon, a mother of a child with cerebral palsy, drew from her personal experiences to craft this touching narrative.

On Sunday, February 23rd, TTMT sponsored a private screening of Out of My Mind in Seattle. We set up a booth with core boards, AAC booklets, and TTMT totes, and gave away a public communication board to a part-time AAC user, who plans to donate it to their school. The event was a huge success, with over 200 attendees moved by the film. Many expressed their gratitude for the tissues provided.
