A child using an AAC device is a beautiful example of how technology can help everyone find their voice. With each tap or touch, they can share their thoughts, needs, and feelings with the world. A speech device opens up new ways to connect with others, learn, and be heard. Communication is about more than just words—it's about making sure everyone has the chance to express themselves and be understood. It’s truly inspiring to see how a little technology can make such a big difference in a child’s life. This is Nate's story.

Nate Townsley is a rambunctious seven-year-old with a heart of gold and a great sense of humor. He was diagnosed with mixed receptive/expressive language disorder, and it was suggested to his parents that a speech device could be beneficial for him. He initially got connected with TTMT through one of our AAC Consultants and received a complimentary loan in 2022. After success with a trial device, Nate obtained his very own Wego 7A in March of 2023. He recently updated to a Talk Pad Wego 8. His communication app of choice is TouchChat and his vocabulary set is Word Power 42.

Nate's mom

"Nate has three siblings and everybody has been really willing to engage with it; they enjoy talking back to him with the device as well. It's a very big bonus for our family to have a speech device, as we can get to know Nate better through the communication tool."

TTMT empowers children to communicate through AAC devices, and opens doors to self-expression, connection, and independence. These tools are not just devices; they are bridges to inclusion, understanding, and opportunities for children to share their unique voice with the world. By fostering a supportive environment, we celebrate their abilities and pave the way for their growth and long-term success.
